Photography FAQs

How do I get a Commemorative photo?
Some events offer a Commemorative 8x10" as a keepsake of the event. A Commemorative 8x10" can be created from any photo. Determine which photo you want used in the Commemorative design and order the Commemorative 8x10" product. If the Commemorative 8x10" offers customization, you need to click 'Add Product Details' in the shopping cart to enter this information. The commemorative border will be added to your photo with your customization.

What is the 'preview' link in the price list?
Some custom photos have a 'preview' link in the price list. Click 'preview' and your photo will be displayed with the border design around it. Note, the preview does not resize your photo is to fit within the border. The preview gives you an idea of the colors and layout of the design. In the final product, your photo will be sized to fit the area inside the border.

What is a photomontage?
One of our specialties is creating 'photomontages'. We take photos from an event, add custom text and blend them together into a work of art.

When will my photos be online?
Images are typically uploaded 24-48 hours after your event concludes, depending on the size of the event. Visit our photo galleries

How long will my photos be online?
Due to the memory intensive nature of storing high-quality images, we normally delete photo galleries within 3-4 months after an event.

What is event photography?
In general, it is a photojournalistic style of photography that captures events as they happen. Event photographers make arrangements in advance with organizations, teams or individuals to be at a specific function / event to photograph the moments as they occur. After the event, the photos are offered to the event's observers and participants, usually online or by pre-arranged delivery.

You photographed my event, but I can't find the people I'm looking for.
We try our best to cover all the games and individuals in an event. However, logistics sometimes prevents that from happening. Also, it may be that your player was not in the game during the time our photographer was there.

Can you take special pictures of my child at an event?
Contact the photographer, preferrably before the event, and identify your child. We try to take some extra photos of your child and will try to accommodate anyone with special interest in being photographed.

How long do you store digital images?
Digital images are archived and kept for at least one year from the conclusion of an event, sometimes longer. Contact us to confirm the status of your images if it has been over one year.

Will my final print have your company name on it?
No, the proofs you see online contain a watermark that will be removed before printing.

What if my proof is too dark or light?
The sample proofs on the web are low resolution images that have not been color corrected nor is it the same clarity as your final prints. Consider the sharpness and focus of the image when determining which photos to order.

Do you crop or remove things from my photo?
The proof images are 4x6" dimensions. Each photo is custom cropped to best fit the print size selected. Contact us if you would like to have special requests.

How long before my photos are delivered?
Most regular photos are processed in 24-48 hours, then shipped from the lab directly to you. You can also ship to a third party for gift giving. You will receive an email from the professional photo lab when your order has been shipped. Delivery times by the USPS vary, but typically you can expect to receive your photos in 7-10 business days.

Where is your Gallery/Shopping Cart hosted?
Our photo galleries and secure shopping experience are hosted by Exposure Manager. Photos ordered are printed in a photo lab on Fujicolor Crystal Archive professional photographic paper using Fuji Frontier printers. The archival quality of the photos is 50+ years before fading may occur.

Web Design FAQs

What is involved in the web design process?
The following steps outline how McLellan Web Design facilitates the web design process:

  · Determine the scope of the project
  · Devise a mutually agreed upon plan that is within your budget and timeline
  · Implement the plan with updates along the way
  · Make no assumptions about your site
  · Post your site when you're 100% satisfied

What languages do you use in your web design?
McLellan Web Design has years of programming experience and an intimate knowledge of the HTML language and uses it to fine tune and control the way your site looks at a very detailed level.  This ensures that your site will look right, no matter what browser the visitor is using.
McLellan Web Design uses Active Server Pages, JavaScript, VBScript, C/C++, CGI and PERL programming languages to create dynamic web pages.  We work with UNIX and NT web servers and can assist you in setting up your site to provide maximum ease of use and efficiency.

Can you create graphics for my site?
McLellan Web Design can scan any graphics you provide, including color or black-and-white photographs, logos, symbols, charts and graphs.  We can also provide simple to moderately involved custom graphic material.  We do not create complex original graphics.  The graphics are then optimized for fast download.

How do you promote a web site?
McLellan Web Design does not use an automatic search engine submission program. We submit your web site effectively by individually visiting search sites (such as AltaVista, Excite, HotBot, etc.) to directly submit your site.  We intelligently register your site with Web directories (such as Yahoo) by submitting a customized description and entering it in the appropriate categories.

Can you maintain my web site?
Depending on your company's needs, a web site can be a lot of work.  Your web site's content needs to be accurate and consistently updated with new information to keep customers coming back for more.  McLellan Web Design offers web site maintenance on an 'hourly/as needed' basis.
